The Opportunity
A vacancy for an Export Control Advisor Voluntary Disclosures
Investigations (m/f) has arisen within the (LOEG) Export Control
Programme Office department of Airbus in Blagnac (France).
Purpose
Airbus is committed to conducting its business with honesty and

regulations. The Airbus Export Control Programme Office has been
designed with this aim in mind, and relies on a talented and diverse
network of professionals for its effective implementation. In the
context of the current effort to deploy Export Control in Airbus,
there is a need to reinforce our capacity to investigate any
allegation of violation and to prepare the required filings for the
relevant authorities (especially the U.S. DDTC and BIS).
The Head of Airbus Export Control is responsible for overseeing and
promoting the Airbus Export Controls Compliance Programme and ensuring
it is implemented in a coherent and pragmatic way across the Group.
The Head of Export Control Programme Office ensures that the key
elements of the Airbus Export Control Programme are properly deployed,
implemented and complied with.
Therefore Airbus has decided to recruit an Export Control
Investigator – Voluntary Disclosures professional (reporting to the
HO Export Control Programme Office) in the Export Control Programme
Office to manage export control compliance-related investigations,
contribute to the root cause analysis, define corrective actions and
draft the relevant reports which may include Voluntary Disclosures.
Specifically, Your Main Accountabilities Will Include:

Serve as a team member of the Investigators’ team charged of
investigating export control allegations received through various
reporting channels and to ensure that risks associated are adequately
identified and mitigated;

Organize and coordinate Export Control investigations with the
Investigators’ team, the Export Control Leadership Team and the
other compliance investigation teams when needed (HR, E&C, etc.). This
includes conducting thorough investigations of export control
allegations, planning the investigation, securing, collecting and
analyzing relevant data necessary for a robust investigation;

Work with the relevant Division Export Control teams and other
Functions to identify the facts, breached regulations, root causes,
and most appropriate corrective actions to address the possible export
control compliance gaps;

Collaborate with outside legal counsel when needed;
*
Draft document filings to the relevant government authorities,
related documents and internal reports and presentation on the topic;
*
Maintain the list of corrective actions topical by implementing a
solid actions management follow-up and reporting, liaising with and
assist internal stakeholders (such as Sales, Customer Services,
Procurement, HR) in the implementation of corrective actions and
finally validating the completion of the actions;

Collaborate with the Second Level Control Manager to ensure risks,
trends and verifications of corrective actions are in place and
effectively closing the gaps.

Work with other Divisions and Regions to ensure adherence to the
Airbus Method for Export Control Escalation and Voluntary Disclosure,
especially in the conduct of Export Control-related investigations;

Play a key role in developing and deploying best practices in the
conduct of internal export control investigations, especially through
training or awareness sessions within the Export Control teams and
other Airbus Functions.
And more generally, execute such other tasks related to export
control investigations as are delegated from time to time.

Required Education, Background and Experience:
* Educated to degree level (MBA or equivalent) in Law or a related
discipline.
* At least 3 years of experience on Export Control and/or general
Trade Compliance and related matters, ideally on EU and US export
control (in an aerospace industry but not limited to)
* Strong organizational and communication skills; sound business
judgment; involves others appropriately in consultations and decisions
* Strong relationship building, networking, interpersonal and
communication skills
* High degree of credibility, independence, integrity,
confidentiality and trust
* Excellent writing skills in English required to write and edit
voluntary disclosure filings, reports and memorandums
* Languages: English (fluent); knowledge of French, German or Spanish
is a plus
* Non-French citizens will need to meet the legal requirements to
work in France.
