Job Description
Shopify is looking for a Country Lead for France. As the leader in
this role, you’ll be part of the team setting Shopify’s strategy,
go-to-market plan, merchant growth, and revenue growth in France. You
will work with other teams in a collaborative effort, across the org
and reporting lines.
Shopify is experiencing high growth in France from Entrepreneurs,
Small and Medium sized businesses (SMBs) Brands and Enterprises, and
we need a leader capable of accelerating our growth and delivering
increased value for our merchants.
In this role, you will learn and understand the needs of the local
community of merchants and partners, increase Shopify’s brand
awareness, lead our Business Development efforts, and act as a
critical stakeholder for our product and platform evolution in France.
You will work closely with the local and regional teams to find
opportunities for growth and roadmap to scale the business.

You will join the EMEA Market Expansion team, as a member of the
Southern Europe unit.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO HERE?
*
You will be responsible for developing and supporting the execution of
our local commercial strategy to make Shopify the leading commerce
platform in France.
*
You will lead a team of high performing individuals with a focus on
Strategic Partnerships and Business Development with the goal of
furthering Shopify’s mission across the country. This would include
but not limited to Government and trade bodies, foundational partners
across commerce, shipping, payments, social platforms and partnerships
that improve our merchant experience in France.

Co-owning the Active merchant and Revenue goals for the country along
with the functional teams
*
You will act as a key stakeholder with functions including: Product,
RnD, Marketing, and Support
*
You will work with data to generate insights, do business planning and
contribute to cross-functional and cross-business projects.
Interpretation of market data for short- and long-term market
forecasts, reports, budgets and ROI.
*
You will grow our brand locally by driving high impact partnerships
and act as a local spokesperson for Shopify in the region. Also, help
in localizing the brand and building a community for Shopify, in doing
so you will connect with merchants.

As Country Manager, you will report to the sub-regional Head.
Qualifications
Who are you?
*
You are a commercial leader with 10+ years of experience that has
worked in a matrixed organization, building alignment with
subject-matter experts across the business. You believe in leading by
influence, not authority
*
Demonstrated strong stakeholder management skills in key projects
across internal functions and with external partners and possess the
ability to work with a diverse set of functional experts.
*
You’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves and use data
systematically to solve complex problems.
*
You’re comfortable communicating with executive leadership on the
status of your country's progress
*
You are comfortable working in an environment in which most of the
team members are distributed and working remotely is a standard.
*
The ability to thrive on change and navigate complexity. You
understand how to prioritize the ‘big rocks’ and are able to help
your team do the same. An entrepreneurial mindset goes a long way at
Shopify.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH:
*
Public speaking.
*
Working in the startup or tech ecosystem in France. Bonus if you are
familiar with the key ecosystem players and commerce.
*
Operating cross-functionally across multiple domains of expertise
including: business development, marketing, growth, product
management, RnD, or support
*
Working for a global company, or remote to HQ
