Project Manager (Freelance)

PROJECT MANAGER (FREELANCE) - REMOTE-FRIENDLY L'Atelier BNP Paribas is a quantitative foresight subsidiary of BNP Paribas Group that investigates and identifies new and emerging technology-related market opportunities and challenges through data, research and analysis. Our primary focus is on research and analysis within virtual and digital domains. We are looking for a freelance Project Manager with product experience to work with us remotely or in Paris for ca. 4-6 months. You will strategise and manage, in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners, the building of several (internal) POC data tools. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Oversee the delivery of the strategy and roadmap for a couple proprietary POC tech (data science) tools, from functionality ideation and user research, to technical build, and testing. Deliver iteratively, and measure and track success (KPIs, leading and lagging indicators, riskiest assumptions, dependencies, etc.) * Identify use cases & product feature opportunities with the help of user research and competitive analysis * Identify, vet, onboard and work with external vendors during the ideation and technology build phases * Liaise with internal teams on concept design, metrics, data resourcing, methodologies, etc. * Collect feedback from internal and external stakeholders to conceptualise and advocate for new features * Build and improve processes for managing internal data projects, collecting user feedback, building requirements, and maintaining a long-term roadmap REQUIREMENTS * Experience managing a digital data product over the entire product lifecycle, from conception to general availability * Experience working with engineers, data scientists, data visualisers, business strategists, and user researchers * Have a technologist-facing mindset and an ability to put yourself in the shoes of users * Are comfortable working in new, open and experimental areas, and being creative with how to approach them. You can think from first principles, work well in ambiguous situations, and adapt quickly * Can act on data without relying on the full picture to be built for you; prioritisation is your strength, and you have the ability to win consensus for your ideas amongst various stakeholders * Can strike a balance between a strategic mind and a tactical operator * Have a bias for execution * Are a “people person” - you are equally comfortable gathering user feedback, presenting your ideas to technology and business teams, or reporting your KPIs back to peers and managers * Enjoy working in cross-functional teams and have the ability to seek and integrate input from various parties * Are fluent in English and ideally French.
