Magento Plugin Developer (Contract / Freelance)

_WE ARE LOOKING FOR A MAGENTO PLUGIN DEVELOPER (FULL STACK) TO WORK FOR US ON A CONTRACT/FREELANCE BASIS FOR 3-6 MONTHS_ We’re a fast-growing team of experienced tech, finance and data science specialists, based in London and Paris, at the early stage of our adventure. Our product addresses a massive opportunity - fixing B2B payments. We already have a list of stellar clients and we’re now embarking on a rapid scale-up journey across Western Europe. We’re well funded too, having just completed our Series A. NOW, THE SERIOUS BUSINESS BIT…‍ We’re bringing B2B commerce into the 21st century by modernising the way businesses buy from each other. In short, we make it easier and safer for merchants to offer credit terms to their business customers. A bit like a “buy now pay later” for B2B. Almost 60% of B2B trade currently takes place on credit terms. Yet, current processes for offering trade credit are outdated and not fit for the digital age. We solve these issues by offering B2B merchants a powerful set of tools, allowing them to offer credit terms to their business customers instantly through a frictionless checkout experience. Merchants that have already integrated with us see on average a 40% increase in revenues... and we’re only just getting started. Hokodo solves a massive issue for B2B trade in general, and particularly for B2B _online_ trade. B2B trade represents $12 TN p.a. in Western Europe. $680 BN of these sales happen online, generating a $15 BN revenue opportunity for Hokodo, which is set to double every 5 years. ABOUT THE ROLE: As we are onboarding more and more merchants using Magento 2, there is a strong need to maintain and develop our Magento 2 module to offer the best and most comprehensive Buy Now Pay Later experience. We are looking for a Magento Plugin Developer who will take ownership of our module, make sure it works whatever the merchant’s configuration and keep developing new features alongside the development of our flagship product. We also expect from the Magento Plugin Developer to lead, run and document QA of the module. You will work closely with: * The CMS product manager to identify, specify and develop new features, * The Customer Success team to onboard Magento 2 merchants, help them with the installation of the module and adapt it to their configuration if needed * The QA and Engineering teams to make sure the module meets Hokodo’s technical requirements and standards REQUIREMENTS: * Strong knowledge of the Magento platform * Be a Magento Certified Developer * Previous experiences on building plugins for Magento 2, especially payment modules * Solid problem solving skills to adapt complex payment workflows to Magento 2’s constraints and requirements * Experience in other CMS is a plus (Shopify, BigCommerce, Salesforce,...) * Strong communication skills to share progress, timelines, and deliverables * Fluent in English TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS * Magento, PHP, Software architecture and best practices * Using REST APIs * Identify issues/errors and performance bottlenecks and provide suitable solutions * Debugging, for example using XDebug * Profiling, Stress testing, and performance tuning * Unit testing * Knowledge of front-end technologies: Javascript / CSS * Knowledge of more recent JavaScript developments, such as React * AWS Cloud Hosting (EC2/RDS and other technologies)
