The Continental Sales business covers distribution of Markets and
Platform Services products to predominantly the continental client
base. The business is setup and managed in a matrix structure, across
products (Macro, Spread, Equities, SIDM, Corporates and Platform
Services) and regional franchises (Continental Europe, UK & CEEMEA)
The Business Manager works across the organization to provide support
to senior Sales leadership, and is critical for driving strategic
analysis, process improvement, financial analysis and controls.
This is a regional role that sits within the CIB F&BM organization
under Global Sales and Marketing Business Management leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities for the Continental Sales Business Manager role
include:
Drive Growth and Strategy.
* Thought leadership around how to optimize and bed down the
continental business during this transition period
* Act as trusted advisor to the Sales Heads in the continental
country heads matrix
* Establish business strategy and priorities (in conjunction with
Sales Heads)
* Own and ensure delivery of strategic business initiatives
* Align front office teams and support groups (Tech, Ops, finance,
legal, compliance) to business priorities
* Ensure business strategy considers market structure and regulatory
changes
Communicate business strategy, performance and priorities (e.g. Town
Halls, Offsites, Business Reviews)
* Drive competitive benchmarking & market analysis
* Drive strategic technology initiatives by providing business
requirements and prioritising for sales, to ensure key deliverables
are implemented.
* Develop regional, cross-business and industrial partnerships
OPTIMIZE BUSINESS PERFORMANCE.
* Create an effective reporting framework for the business which
aligns with standards adopted for the EMEA region in partnership with
our P&A team
* Lead annual Plan / Budget process (in conjunction with Planning &
Analysis)
* Forecasting, planning of both financials, HC and T&E
* Work with 5 person continental country heads in location to lead
client and product analysis and account planning
* Review the initial governance and supervisory framework devised by
partners in controls making recommendations for change/optimization
where necessary
* Assist in investment / productivity initiatives (headcount,
technology spend, etc)
* Drive regular expense reviews to ensure targets are met
* Ensure compliance with expense policies
* Oversee occupancy & real estate within space
Manage Business Risks
* Face off against regulators such as the ECB and BAFIN on regulatory
matters with the business heads , working with colleagues in
compliance and the JPMAG Board to ensure our continental and JPMAG
strategy is well understood
* Assist with regulatory reform issues that impact the business
* Identify, assess and mitigate business risks that could impair the
ability to do business
* Oversee that an effective control environment exists (including
functions covering market, credit, operational and reputational risk)
* NBIA (New Business Initiatives) & RA (Risk Assessment)
* Resiliency planning in partnership with the controls organisation
* Having an awareness of errors in the business - through
relationship with the controls organisation
* Audit and Regulatory reviews

* GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF MARKETS PRODUCTS SPACE - CROSS ASSET CLASS WHERE
