Business Management optimizes business performance by helping to drive
key initiatives. We act as trusted advisors and counterweight to
Business/Group Heads, and are responsible for identifying, escalating,
and mitigating business risks. The role of a business manager is
dynamic and can vary from business to business, in line with the
priorities of the different lines of business.
An associate in Markets Trading Business Management would be expected
to:
* Work alongside all Markets Trading teams in Paris (Rates, Repo,
Credit, CEM, Equities) to drive the front office agenda, including
partnering with Sales teams to help achieve this
* Provide a high level of responsiveness to executive ad-hoc business
requests, project management, presentation development, and business
analysis
* Prepare and communicate various types of presentations, including
business strategy, performance and priorities to a broad audience,
including senior management
* Act as an effective liaison between the Front Office and various
support groups (i.e. Middle Office, Product Control, Market Risk,
Business Control, Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, Audit, Tech,
Infrastructure) to manage the day to day operations, deliverables, as
well as defining and implementing key initiatives for the business
* Assist in driving opportunities to grow the business and client
revenues, including support of new products and platforms through the
full end-to-end implementation process
* Assist in planning revenues, headcount, expenses and
investment/productivity initiatives
* Oversight to ensure that the business is run in an efficient and
controlled manner, including tracking against budgets/plans and key
financial ratios and effective management of direct and indirect costs
* Collaborate and partner with the Financial Controllers to develop
financial reporting and key MIS for the business, including commentary
on the drivers of key financials
* Identify key business risks on the platform and drive resolution of
mitigating controls
* Partner with others in Finance & Business Management (CFOs,
Business Managers, Controllers) across regions and businesses to share
best practice and drive consistency across the bank
* Organise complex information in a strategic and compelling way,
demonstrating strong design acumen and expertise in Excel and
PowerPoint techniques. Create wireframes and mock-ups quickly and
iteratively for management presentations, reports, and dashboards
* Collect and maintain internal resources and documentation on
collaboration sites, like SharePoint or Confluence
QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related
area
* Strong project management skills
* Proven experience delivering timely, high quality presentations
and/or reporting for various projects and stakeholders
* Knowledge of Markets trading operating model, finance structure,
regulatory environment, capital framework and financial regulations
would be a benefit
* Demonstrated ability in dealing with different stakeholder groups
and driving the agenda
* Good judgement, maturity and poise to enable
interaction/influencing of senior stakeholders
* Self-starter able to work with high degree of independence
* Strong time management with the ability to prioritize, multi-task
and meet deadlines
* Thoughtful analytical skills; able to develop, clearly present and
draw conclusions
* Excellent communication (verbal and written)
* Energetic, self-motivated and effective under pressure - must enjoy
the challenge of working within a fast-paced and demanding working
environment
* Intermediate to advanced level ability expected in all MS Office
tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Pivot Tables)
