Job Description: A job opportunity for a Specialist for Surface
Preparation and Surface Treatment (m/f) has arisen in Airbus in
Toulouse. You will work as part of a highly motivated transnational
team to develop and deploy surface preparation and surface treatment
processes applicable on various metallic and polymeric materials. The
position is an excellent opportunity to use your skills to contribute
to innovative work that improves the environmental footprint of
aircraft by applying the latest pre-treatment, treatment and coating
technologies. Our big challenge is to develop and deploy the next
generation of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) compliant coatings
technologies to prepare Airbus for a “green” future. This is done
in cooperation with aircraft programs, manufacturing engineering and
supply chain to ensure best benefit on our existing and future
aircrafts) What you will be doing: For a self-motivated team player
with initiative and a flexible approach we can offer ongoing
opportunities for career development. The job is based in Toulouse,
France, but you will also have a flexible approach to travel to other
company sites and customers when required. Team members are located
all over Europe, strong collaboration and exchange is expected. You
will contribute to multi-program projects by assessing & developing
coating technologies. This is done by assessing supplier proposals or
Airbus owned developments. A key part of the job is related to EHS
compliant coatings (e.g. REACH) and Research & Technology related
projects. In detail the job consists in: * Development, qualification
& deployment of Materials & Processes (M&P) Surface Technologies
(surface preparation/Surface treatments) for mature industrial
application, especially on metals and polymeric/Composite materials *
Specify and verify materials and processes performance & quality data
as basis for certification * Assess & verify corrosion & protection
properties with respect to aircraft needs * Ensure reactive support to
Final Assembly Lines and Major Component Assembly for design & build,
including M&P expert support. * Ensure M&P operational Support to
plants and Risk Sharing Partners (RSP)/supplier based on experience As
the successful candidate, you must be able to demonstrate the
following: * Educated to a degree in Material Science and/or Chemistry
(preferred in materials science or chemical engineering) * Experience
in surface preparation / surface treatments by development/production.
Surface preparations and coating technologies free of hazardous (REACH
related) substances shall be known by the applicant. * Project
Management Skills * Negotiation level of English Please ensure that a
