Your future The Safety Intern will be primarily responsible for creating and administering safety management processes to drive continuous safety improvement. Specific duties will include: * Responsively and competently address the company's safety needs with functional emphasis supporting the Extrusion, Finishing and Shipping Depts. * Develop and update management systems, policies, standard, processes, JSWP's, and programs to drive continuous safety improvement * Use hazard assessment tools to identify and reduce/mitigate risk * Lead ergonomic assessment and improvement efforts * Develop effective safety and health training * Conduct facility audits and communicate gaps to the expected standard * Actively participant in joint union/management safety committee * Organize and manage safety records * Assist in worker's compensation management as required Your potential The successful candidate will possess: * Working toward a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a Safety-related field * Continuing education/training in occupational safety and health * Working knowledge of regulatory standards, amendments, advisories, guidelines, and updates * Computer skills- MS Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint, project management, data analysis, reporting and research * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Must be able to effectively work with all levels of the organization About Us For over 50 years, Chase Brass has been producing brass rod in the USA for hundreds of different everyday items – faucet parts, auto parts, valves, hardware, couplings, sensors, etc. – and not so everyday parts like the 2002 Olympic Torch.
