HEAD OF EXTERNAL COM AND CORPORATE CONTENT (F/M)
ORGANIZATION
* Areas of responsibility: Media relations and campaigns, Content
and messaging
* Location: Paris La Defense
* Supervisor: Corporate Communications Director
CONTEXT
Driven by a strong momentum, Nexans is transforming itself to become
a pure electrification player. In this context, Nexans amplifies its
communications to reinforce Nexans’ position as a key player in the
global electrification thanks to integrated omnichannel media
communications, enhanced thought leadership role in climate change and
energy transition, Group sponsorships and reinforced communication
towards individual shareholders (4% of Nexans Capital in 2020 versus
7% in 2019) and key starkholders.
PURPOSE
The Head of external communication will drive the Group’s 360
communication and thought leadership.
This newly created role will is an opportunity for someone with a
creative mind to bring together deep expertise in critical
communication and reputational thinking in various international
environments.
This person will be expected to ensure alignment between all the
communication actions driven by different entities (business units/
countries, agencies, factories…)
To support this ambition, the Head of external communication will be
directly responsible for PR and corporatel content. She/ He will also
play an important part in guiding the 360 communication strategy for
the Group’s communication channels inc corporate website, social
media, influencers campaigns
Most precisely, by :
* building a messaging strategy,
* leading the communication roadmap,
* ensuring that the Group's messages are perfectly coordinated
across all channels,
* by proposing new creative content, for all channels, whether it be
videos, podcasts, speeches, texts...
* writing different strategic contents, always aiming at value
creation and impact ensuring rigorous corporate communications,
particularly to shareholders.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The Head of external communication and corporate content will be
responsible for leading thought leadership for Nexans through media
campaigns, creative content, PR relation and non-captive media
campaigns, ensuring the Company’s narrative resonates with all
external audiences.
She/He will manage different agencies and people in her/his team;
she/he will also be working in close cooperation with the different
communication correspondents (Corporate, Business Groups, Regions),
Financial Communication & Investor Relations, Corporate Communication
managers and Marketing Communication to ensure alignment with the
Group’s strategy, consistency in our messages and brand identity,
mutualisation of tools and project synergies, sharing and
dissemination of best practices.
360 COMMUNICATIONS
* Develop relationships with journalists of the economic, financial
and trade press
* Implement campaigns on non-captive media to make Nexans' strategy
resonate with a wider audience
* Develop targeted messaging, narratives and themes for a variety of
audiences that are crucial to helping Nexans grow as a business
* Develop engaging, wide-ranging digital content
* Amplify and cross-pollinate content with regional businesses and
external partners
* Develop media campaigns aligned to company objectives and respond
to media requests, as required
* Help to make sure that the social media channels are one of the
priority media for external communication, thanks to creative content
and disruptive campaigns
POSITION SIZING
* Key critical position for Nexans Corporate communications with
high exposure to many external and internal stakeholders
* Manages several communication agencies at different levels of
positioning
* Close work with the Corporate communication director
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Communication strong communicator with a logical, structured,
clear and mature style
* Hyper-collaborative, autonomous, organized, proactive and
adaptable
* Strong project management and organizational skills
* Excellent oral and written communication (in French and English)
* Strong inter-personal skills and demonstrated capabilities to
manage up, cross and down
* Appetite for innovation & creativity
* Up-to-date knowledge of and genuine interest in content
strategies, emerging digital trends and the opportunities they present
* Ability to drive multiple service providers in diverse regions and
activities
* Positive mindset with a “learning never stops” attitude
* Ability to translate data into meaningful insights and actionable
recommendations
* Capable of quickly engaging audiences of all levels.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* Business and/or Communication graduate degree
* 10+ years’ experience in a communications position
* Experience in an international company
* Team management experience
* Fluent English, additional languages appreciated.
* Press experience with regular interactions with journalists
* Have already been exposed to crisis situations
