JOB DESCRIPTION: A vacancy for a System Design Responsible (SDR) has arisen within Airbus Helicopters in Marignane. You will join a transnational team of 46 people in the department in charge of Vehicle Mission Systems. Your mission will consist of taking over the development of technical Mission Equipment or Systems and its integration into a Helicopter, such as “Outboard System” (Floatation system, Hoist System, Cargo Hook etc.) or “Inboard Systems” (Seats, Cargo nets, fire extinguisher etc.). You are working autonomously in an integrated team (SQUAD) in close collaboration with other métier department as well as supplier based on customer- / certification requirements via the complete development phases along the V-Model. The new organization with flat hierarchical structure and “New Ways of Working” offers you – based on your knowledge and your personality – to take over the responsibility for a Mission system or even the lead of a dedicated SQUAD. As well the role of a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) could be a development step for your future field of responsibility. This position is ideal for applicants, who are willing to support and bring in their ideas to the technical step-beyond, innovation and competition for Mission Systems of all kind of helicopters. In addition you have the possibility to participate to the development of new helicopters and to take over the lead in a dynamical transnational environment. With an excellent technical understanding and your agility, you round out your profile to effectively cooperate with the dedicated clients and interfaces and close the tasks in time, cost and quality. This position is located in the area of OUTBOARD SYSTEMS and will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities. TASKS & ACCOUNTABILITIES Your main tasks and responsibilities will include for existing as well as new systems: * Along the V-Model: * Collection and summary of customer requirements, creation of application concept; * Creation of the necessary specifications and documents (system, function and equipment) as well as their validations together with the necessary specialist department; * Development of the system together with the specialist colleagues from environment, safety, electrics, hydraulics, human-machine interface, quality, certification, etc.; * Accompaniment, execution, management of reviews at supplier or development partner level; * Definition and support of tests and integration on component and H/C level; * Creation of necessary documents for the approval of the system towards the authorities; * Compliance or control / harmonization of inputs and outputs; * Ensuring the deliveries agreed in the mission letters with regard to time, costs and quality as well as the specifications with regard to design regulations; * Harmonization of the "Product Sourcing Strategy" in close coordination with the purchasing department, the internal and external customers as well as the authorities; * Contribution to technical innovation and research topics. This role will involve some travels for business (once /month) in Europe and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. REQUIRED SKILLS: You will have the following skills and experience: * Completed engineering studies in the field of mechanical engineering / design or comparable or technician / master craftsman training with years of professional experience * Enhanced knowledge of aviation requirements and their regulations * Knowledge of Helicopter operations (of advantage) * Knowledge of outboard systems and its associated integration (of advantage) * Knowledge of CATIA/VPM or similar * Confident handling of MS Office and SAP or similar * Constructive and proactive approach to problems and challenges * Ability to consistently adhere to standards and guidelines and to propose or contribute to continuous improvement * Experience in project management * Fluent in reading/writing Business English and French required (German with advantage) Please provide your application and CV in English.
