Wind data intern

Local Unit & Position Description: DNV is hiring two students for two internships based in Paris. The ‘Project Development and Analytics” team treats measured wind data before and after the wind farm construction to estimate the future energy production, ensure a good operation of the wind farm, or evaluate the repowering of the turbines, among other tasks. The intern will join this team and will have the opportunity to work on different phases of the wind farm life to better understand the stakes of this profession. The subjects proposed to the candidate include the following list of domain and topics: INTERNSHIP#1 - “Turbine component loads and optimization algorithms” This internship focuses on an innovation project dealing with the optimization of the Wind Sector Management strategies applied during the operation of the wind farm in order to reduce loads on the turbine components. The intern will work on the algorithm improvement used to maximize the energy output while keeping the loads of the turbine into the authorized range. INTERNSHIP#2 - “Monthly performances monitoring” This internship will focus on the development and implementation of an operational monitoring tool for operational wind farms. The purpose of this tool is to generate monthly reports relating to the operation of customer projects (availability, production and loss, on-site events, etc.). The intern will handle large dataset of 10-minutes SCADA data recorded by the wind turbines during their operations. Position Qualifications: DNV is looking for two interns meticulous, attentive to details, independent, with a technical background and solid competences in PYTHON development, fluent in FRENCH AND ENGLISH with an ability to write reports in both languages. Knowledge of wind industry will be an asset. The internship duration is 6 months maximum. Indemnity for the intership is 1100/MONTH.
