Description
DUTIES Position fully assists the CLO coordinator in all areas of CLO
responsibilities and provides clerical, administrative and telephone
support. Works with CLO to enhance post morale and provide orientation
and information of interest to the Embassy community. Is also
responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating CLO events and
activities, day trips, bazaars. Maintains and disseminates community
information. Serves all US Government employees and family members,
maintaining and improving quality of life for all Mission members.
When the CLO coordinator is absent, represents CLO at various
committee meetings. A Top Secret clearance is required. QUALIFICATIONS
AND EVALUATIONS Requirements: EXPERIENCE: At least three years of
administrative, secretarial or customer-oriented work experience is
required. JOB KNOWLEDGE: Familiarity with the basic structure/function
of the Embassy and various USG agencies and with the Foreign Service
living is required. Must have a general understanding of factors
affecting newly-arrived employees and family members adapting to Paris
and general resources that are available or prior experience which
demonstrates the ability to assist newly-assigned personnel in
adjusting to a new overseas environment Education Requirements:
Completion of Secondary School is required. Evaluations: LANGUAGE
(THIS WILL BE TESTED): English (Writing-Reading -Speaking), Level-3
– Good Working Knowledge is required. SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Excellent customer service is required. Good writing/editing skills
required. Strong organizational and time management skills required.
Strong written and oral communication skills required. Ability to
initiate and implement various programs. Ability to interact well with
others. Ability to effectively use the Internet. Ability to use
computer word processing, data entry necessary security clearances
through RSO coordinates, events set ups with GSO, FMO and Cafeteria as
needed. Provides clerical and administrative support as directed by
CLO (40%). Attends various organization meetings as needed including
Diversity and Inclusion, Green Team, EAC, Housing Board, Weekly
Administration and Country Team meetings. Assists with coordinating
sponsor and welcome/orientation program, initiating communication with
new arrivals/bidders to Post. Updates pre-arrival and post-arrival
information, CLO Welcome Flyer. Participates in post welcome
activities (20%). Ability to obtain and hold a Top Secret clearance.

Duty”), equivalent documentation, or certification. A
“certification” is any written document from the armed forces that
certifies the service member is expected to be discharged or released
from active duty service in the armed forces under honorable
conditions within 120 days after the certification is submitted by the
applicant. The certification letter should be on letterhead of the
appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the
military service dates including the expected discharge or release
date; and (2) the character of service. Acceptable documentation must
be submitted in order for the preference to be given. ** This level of
preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on LWOP and CS
with re-employment rights back to their agency or bureau.
