Position description POSTING TITLE CIFRE PhD - Phase-Change-Memory assisted Binary Neural Network Machine Learning Circuit design M/F REGULAR/TEMPORARY Temporary CONTRACT DURATION (NB OF MONTHS) 36 JOB DESCRIPTION Phase-change Memory circuits coupled with capacitors have already proposed to enable Neural Network learning on-chip (IBM, Nature), however power consumption is high and self operating systems are yet to be demonstrated. Recently, Binary Neural Networks have been disclosed, the goal of this Thesis is to implement such an algorithm on a System on A Chip using STMicroelectronics Phase Change memory Technology. It will done in cooperation with CEA-LETI and Lille University IEMN lab. The needed competences to achieve this goal are: circuit architecture, design Automation tools (synthesis, DFT insertion, Place and Route, Static Timing Analysis, simulation), algorithmic applied to AI. As a preliminary work, the student will characterize a precursor component designed at LETI's premise, and to model Phase Change Memory electrical behavior in the context of proposed Binary Neural Network.
