POSITION TITLE: R&D Technician POSITION TYPE: Regular - Full-Time POSITION LOCATION: VilleneuvedAscq RD REQUISITION ID: 16740 The R&D department is in charge of new product developments for the McCain Group in Europe for the Potatoes & Appetizers: from idea to launch of the product in partnership with marketing, sales & operations. In order to support European R&D Organization changes, we are looking for: R&D TECHNICIAN - R&D EUROPE CONTINENTALE (CE) Location : based in Villeneuve d’Ascq Some travels in Europe : up to 10 % (depending on projects) _ Position description: _ The R&D Technician is supporting the R&D project leads in their daily tasks of NPD such as cooking test, nutritional analyses, pilot & plant trials, presentations & sensory tasting. He/She is driving some specific technical studies or requests (i.e.: competitor watch, benchmark of products vs competitor…) He/She is in charge of HACCP implementation within the R&D center. He/She will manage NPD specifications within PLM including entering data in the system & will be in charge of NPD data maintenance. _ Main missions: _ * YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF KITCHEN TESTS & YOU SUPPORT THE ORGANIZATION OF THE PILOT / PLANT TRIALS IN CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE R&D PROJECT LEAD. * you support the preparation of the trials & sensory tests * you support trials & make sure everything is properly documented * YOU SUPPORT REQUESTS EXTERNAL TO R&D WHEN A PRODUCT OR TECHNICAL EXPERTISE IS REQUIRED : * You are fully involved in new product presentations & food shows with our culinary chef ( sampling, logistic, training, tasting session …) * You are organizing internal sensory tests (logistic side) * You determine cooking instructions to optimize product quality * You are technically supporting some business request (product performance evaluation, role of the equipment, business presentations…) * YOU ARE DRIVING HACCP PLAN IMPLEMENTATION WITHIN THE R&D CENTER & MAKE SURE ALL GLOBAL BOP ARE IN PLACE * YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF ENTERING NPD DATA IN PLM SYSTEM & MAINTAIN DATA QUALITY OF OUR NPD _PROFILE:_ * Degree in Food Industry (product, process or hostelry) or you have a significant experience in food industry ideally in R&D or process. * First experience in Food Industry * Good knowledge in product & process * Creative, rigorous & organised * Lateral thinker * Communication skills: able to communicate internally & externally of the company in an international & intercultural environment. * At ease with data system * Good knowledge in English * Passionate about food & culinary _McCain Foods is an equal opportunity employer.
