Department Profile
The Fixed Income Division (FID) is comprised of Interest Rate and
Currency Products, Credit Products and Distribution. Professionals in
the Division assess and actively manage risk, trade securities, and
structure as well as execute innovative transactions in the fast-paced
and constantly changing global markets. The Commodities Division is a
market leader across a broad range of commodities markets, with
expertise in areas including client risk management, financing
solutions and investor products Sales & Trading.
Risk and Data Analytics Centre, Paris
As we see increasing client interest in quantitative strategies,
maintaining, and enhancing our leading position in risk analytics and
technology is critical to our Institutional Securities Group (ISG)
businesses globally. The seamless collaboration between technologists
and ISG personnel, including data scientists, financial engineers and
quantitative analysts helps to deliver innovative tools and solutions
that differentiate us from our competitors.
Morgan Stanley is establishing a new Risk & Data Analytics
(“R&D”) Centre in Paris, where it will support our growth strategy
for ISG both in EMEA and more broadly. The Centre will deliver
cutting-edge, proprietary solutions to address the rapidly changing
business needs of our sales and trading franchise while providing a
platform to foster innovation for our market’s businesses, driven by
analytical and technological excellence.
Job Responsibilities:
Quant Developer Strategists are the programming and software
engineering specialists in the strat team. We are here to use advanced
software techniques to deliver complex models in partnership with the
modelling strats. We work all the way from the detail of the model
implementations to the enterprise systems that drive Morgan Stanley. A
good quant dev enjoys developing, improving, and delivering software,
but you’ll also need to be ready to work closely with the modelling
and desk strat teams to understand how our models work and how our
business functions. We span across asset classes and through the full
development lifecycle so you will need to be ready to work on a mix of
projects and adapt and deliver quickly to keep pace with the markets.
You will be able to draw out the shape of a complex solution and
deliver it as software with the discipline to make it rock solid and
tuned for performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications and Desirable Skills:
* Strong computer science or software development skills. You should
be keen to write software.
* You have good numerical skills and an interest in learning about
finance
* Pragmatic approach to ensuring delivery on a timely basis and an
ability to work with others on joint projects
* You will possess practical problem-solving skills with a great
attention to detail
* Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal
English
