Technical Officer for Navigation Common Platforms (m/f)

Job Description: A vacancy for a Technical Officer for Navigation Common Platforms (m/f) has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Toulouse. You will join the Air Traffic Management and Navigation department within the « Engineering / Upstream Ground Systems » division of Space Systems. You will join a team of highly qualified navigation engineers covering a large spectrum of expertise in complex GNSS systems such as the definition and validation of the main EGNOS v3 system and subsystems. As a Technical Officer, you will be in charge of defining the technical specifications of an EGNOS v3 sub-system (mainly the EGNOS Common Servers Platform) and ensuring the OTOCOQ (On-Time, On-Cost, On-Quality) technical insourced development. This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities. Tasks & accountabilities Your main tasks and responsibilities will include: * Establish and maintain the technical specifications of the EGNOS v3 sub-system in line with the System requirements and design, * Ensure the compliance of the EGNOS v3 sub-system development (insourced) against the technical specifications, * Lead sub-system design reviews for technical matters, * Interface with the Customer for any technical matter related to the sub-system ensuring its satisfaction, * Coordinate closely with the EGNOS v3 Industrial Manager for any topic which may have an impact on contract, planning and cost, * Handle anomalies or non-conformances raised during sub-system IVQ through their resolution, * Support to the System design team for architecture definition. You will be the interface of the sub-contractor in charge of the sub-system development for all technical matters_: technical requirements, development, Requirements, IVQ with respect to Safety and Security_. Required skills You have the following skills and experience: * Educated to Engineering degree (or equivalent) in space engineering or a related discipline, * Minimum 5 years’ experience in Engineering activities with ideally GNSS, Space Systems background, strongly focused on IT Platforms design and definition, * Mandatory : strong IT skills (Linux, virtualization, computers network, distributed architectures), * Very good knowledge of software architectures, development methods and tools, * A recognized experience in subcontractors management is mandatory, * Ability to manage technical and industrial drivers and propose a clear way forward, * Language skills: Advanced or fluent level in English and French.
