MOLECULAR BIOLOGY ASSISTANT (M/F) Full time Permanent position France / Uchaud CONTEXT Sakata Vegetables Europe is a subsidiary of Sakata Seed Corporation (Japan). Sakata is responsible for the development and expansion of the activities across the EMEA area. With our wide array of vegetable seeds, we want to create a confidence-based relationship with our customers though our motto of Quality, Reliability and Service. MISSIONS Under the management of the Head of research laboratories EMEA, based in South Africa the position holder will work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment perform and will perform routine marker assisted selection work. The position holder will also be responsible to develop molecular markers for specified crops. The main responsibilities will include: * Plan, coordinate and perform molecular marker test on and high throughput genotyping platform * Contact suppliers and ensure the availability of consumables necessary to perform daily routine tasks * Set up and/or update protocols to guarantee the quality, reliability and traceability of results * Develop new markers to perform marker-assisted breeding PROFILE We are searching for a candidate with a minimum of BAC+5 with experience in performing high throughput routine marker assisted selection, molecular marker development and design. In addition, a good sense of service and being able to deal with deadlines are essential. To succeed in this position, it is essential to know how to communicate in a multicultural context and have a very good level of English, both written and spoken. You should also have the ability to handle a large volume of samples and data sets. You should also have good organizational and time management skills as well as an ability to work at a steady pace according to seasonal peaks. You must have the ability to learn quickly, take initiatives and be autonomous in the short term, while demonstrating a strong ability to collaborate easily within the team and with other departments.
