JOB DESCRIPTION:
POSITION SUMMARY
Within ATR Engineering Directorate, in the Avionics Systems
Department, the jobholder is responsible for the development and
follow-up of Avionics Systems, in particular ATA 31 topics (Indicating
and Alerting), on ATR42 and ATR72 programs.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
As the world’s number one regional aircraft manufacturer, and the
most eco-responsible commercial aircraft, ATR’s ambition is to push
for technological breakthroughs in many domains, including the
Avionics Systems, in a sustainable and modern way.
The perimeter of Avionics Department in ATR Engineering is:
* ATA 22 – Autopilot,
* ATA 23 – Communications,
* ATA 31 – Indicating/recording,
* ATA 34 – Navigation,
* ATA 42 – Modular Avionics
* ATA 45 – Maintenance
* ATA 46 – EFB
The jobholder is responsible for the development and follow-up of
Avionics Systems for his/her perimeter of activities, in particular
ATA 31 topics (Indicating and Alerting) :
* Lead Avionics Systems modifications and studies in compliance with
applicable technical design directives and certification rules
(FAR/JAR/CS25, CRIs, IPs…),
* Ensure technology and regulation watch,
* Participate in research programs,
* Specify, develop, and integrate Systems and Equipment in
accordance with ATR product policy,
* Release Specifications and Statements of Work, participate in
supplier selection (RFI/RFP), conduct progress meetings, and monitor
the development and adjustment of the concerned aircraft-installed
systems,
* Release Certification Program and develop the Means of Compliance
documents required for certification ; discussions with Certification
Authorities,
* Issue technical data to support Operational and Maintenance
documentation updates,
* Verify ATR and Vendor Service Bulletins,
* Support the Production Line in the production phase, and during
flight tests and delivery, in case of issues (assembly anomalies,
troubleshooting, concessions, repairs…)
* Provide technical support to the Customers and other ATR
departments in their missions (Procurement, Program, Customers
Support, Marketing and Sales, Quality…)
* Manage technical relationships with Avionics equipment suppliers,
* Provide flight authorization outside the approved definition (NTO,
TA, FC)
* Draft Airlines information documents (SIL)
* For aircraft events, contribute to identify the rootcauses and to
provide expertise on parts found to be defective. If required, suggest
adapted preventive/corrective solutions as well as applicable
procedures,
* Analyse in-service occurrences and evaluate the need for
reporting,
* Technical support to ICAO Annex 13 investigations.
KEY SKILLS / KEY PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Engineering degree from Aeronautical school (or equivalent)
* Large experience (>5 years) in the development/support of
aeronautical electronics systems, in particular ATA 31 (Indicating and
Alerting), including both legacy (analogical, SAO…) and
state-of-the-art (digital, SCADE…) technologies.
* Good knowledge of A/C regulations (JAR/CS/FAR 25, Part 21…),
development processes and standards (ARPs), qualification standards
(DO, EUROCAE)
* General knowledges of production, support, procurement…
activities within an aircraft manufacturer
* Languages : Good level in English & French
* Good knowledge in Safety process, knowledge in Human factors
* Experience in project management
* Good relationship skills, ability to communicate with various
stakeholders (external: Authorities, Partners, Suppliers, Customers…
; internal: Production, Quality, Procurement, Program, Customers
Support…) and in a multi-cultural environment.
This role may involve some travels for business (worldwide).
Possible on call duties during week-ends and/or holidays seasons.
