Alstom is undergoing a major transformation in the way projects are
managed, in terms of business solution, organization, and ways of
working. TPCP (Tender and Project Performance) is at the heart of this
transformation with a dedicated team, which is looking for a trainee
to assist with business intelligence and reporting needs. The mission
of the Tender & Project Performance Office is to provide the Support
and Control of projects in R&D, Tender and Contract phases. The BI
project manager intern will report to the TPCP BI & Transformation
Manager.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
CONTRIBUTION TO PM2020 DATA NEEDS: The PM2020 program is data-hungry,
so the BI Project Manager Trainee will need to be able to understand
data needs, locate data sources, and present them in a succinct,
efficient manner using the BI tools at his/her disposition. These
activities are vital for the PM2020 decision-making process. The BI
Project Manager Trainee will also be invited to actively participate
in BI tests for new business solutions under development.
NEW BI TOOLS: Based on the business needs of the moment, the BI
Project Manager Trainee will, with the aid of his/her manager, collect
and specify new business needs, put in place appropriate architecture
with our IT partners, and execute development of new BI reporting
tools. His/her scope will also extend to managing the testing,
validating, and deployment of any new BI application in concertation
with the internal client/sponsor.
LEGACY TOOL REPORTING NEEDS: The BI Project Manager Trainee will be
responsible for the upkeep of existing BI reporting tools. This
includes routine tasks such as user access management and data
extractions, but also specifying, testing, and deploying enhancements,
leading platform migration activities, and supporting users.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Enrolled in diploma/Master-level degree in IT (software engineering)
Double diploma in business (Finance or Project management) would be a
plus
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Highly capable in database languages such as MySQL
Able to create professional data visualization to dashboards and
reports (Qlik Sense)
Logic, analytical and organizational skills
Capacity to work in an international environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in English, French
a plus)
Ability to develop and deliver presentations
Team player qualities
Result-oriented
Ability to guide and provide critical feedback
Capacity to work alone (autonomous)
Adaptability to change
6 months internship
