* Performs day-to-day credit analysis related to ratings, research,
presentations and investor outreach.
* Supports Lead Analysts in forecasting macroeconomic indicators and
monitoring economic, fiscal, political developments.
* Prepares first draft of rating committee memos and related
documents, in collaboration with Lead Analysts.
* Monitors credit quality and issuer and/or portfolio trends by
following market developments, analyzing issuer reporting, and
engaging with issuers directly for follow-up clarification and
information.
* Attends rating committee meetings and is encouraged to
participate, including offering analysis and opinions where
appropriate.
* Prepares first draft of core research as applicable to the LOB
e.g. credit opinions, issuer and sector comments, ESG-related
research, press releases in collaboration with Lead Analysts.
* Performs analytical tasks related to portfolio reviews and other
special credit projects.
* Demonstrates sound understanding and judgment in applying
Moody’s processes, documentation standards and best practices,
adhering to all laws and policies.
* Provides clear, concise and constructive guidance in the work of
more junior colleagues and FDAs.
* Covers potentially a sub-sovereign entity depending on
opportunities
* Minimum undergraduate/ first level degree (e.g. Bachelor’s
Degree, or equivalent qualifications) in Economics or Political
Economy, International Relations, Finance.
* Some relevant experience in the ratings, financial, government
sector would be an advantage.
* Economics background with strong focus in macroeconomics would be
an advantage.
* Fluency in English is required; French and other languages would
be an advantage.
* Very good knowledge of MS Excel (lookup functions, macros, etc.),
Word and PowerPoint.
* Some prior experience in research writing
* Programming experience (R, Python) and work focused on
visualisation would be a plus.
* Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment,
be proactive and exhibit ownership.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
* Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize tasks
accordingly.
The Ratings & Research Support department is responsible for
producing analytical inputs in support of Moody’s Ratings and
Research function. In addition, this department will provide support
for surveillance requirements and partner with R&R to provide the
necessary support for issuer and investor interactions.
